I don't have pictures, but we had a pretty eventful Wednesday. I went and picked up the kids from Felecia's on Wednesday afternoon, we went to the grocery store, came home, we ate...then I thought to check Trevor's pants. No, we are not potty-trained just yet, but he is working on it. I really do not think he cares one way or another....that's another story in itself.
Soooo....when the pull up came off, he starts screaming...I look down, and his little thingy is red and swollen. Okay, no big deal, so I thought....I'll give him some benedryl and maybe the swelling will go down. (I've seen little boys come in the ER before for penis swelling, and we give benedryl, and that seems to cure it.) Little did I know, there was something brewing in there. By the time Joe got home, we checked it again, and in just an hour and a half, it had doubled in size and now had an area of pus in it. So, I decided it didn't need to wait until morning to see the pediatrician, so off to the ER we went.....home sweet home...I can't seem to get enough of that place!
I really didn't even know if I wanted to sign him in, I just wanted a Dr to look at it, just to see if anything needed to be done. So, by the time we got there, it was more swollen, and had more pus in it. By this time, I felt so bad for him. Dr. Baker thought that he needed to be sedated to have it drained, and we would consult Urology for that. Then came the IV....ohhhh just let me tell you how fun that was! LaKristen got it on the first stick...awesome job, by the way....we got it taped down, with a wrap around it and all. Well, he found the t-connector, and with one rip, it was gone. So, I had the bright idea to stick him myself, since there were so many people holding him down, he couldn't see what was going on....BAD IDEA. Your IV skills stink when you're sticking your child, let me just tell you! I know, I know...bad decision, but when your child is raising all kinds of you know what, and everyone in the ER can hear him, you just want it over with, and I knew no one else in that room wanted to stick him. When I say he was "that pt", I mean it! I was embarrassed! He was screaming, kicking, biting, sweating....it wasn't pretty, but at least I can admit it...some parents won't!!
So, after finally getting an IV on him (thank you Greg Kyser!!)....we were set. He was happy again, watching his dinosaur DVD and painting a duck that Sarah found him while we patiently waited on Urology. I thought to look at it again, and I'll be John Brown, if it didn't bust on it's own!! Ohhhhh well. IV not needed after all of that fighting. Urology still came to see him, put him on antibiotics, and we have to follow up with them next week.
Just another adventure to add to the list I guess! I'm just glad my little man's "winkie" is okay!!

"I'm Mad"
That was his explaination when he came stomping over to me. I saw him coming with that pout, and I had to break out my camera. I swear, this child can pout with the best of them...it was all over a slide. His favorite slide was occupied by a family partaking in a little photo shoot. Needless to say, Trevor wasn't too happy about it!

3 Year Old Visit
Today we went for our 3 year old visit with Dr. Hardwick. Trevor always has to cause a good scene when we get called to the back. He had a melt down after we took his shoes and pants off. Those of you who have never witnessed a Trevor melt down, consider yourself fortunate. This child can throw a fit, and has been able to since the day he was born!! He weighed 35 lbs and was 37 1/2 inches tall...we think. Those are the closest measurements we could get. He has lost 2 lbs since last week, but that's okay. He hasn't had an appetite due to the strep throat (man, I wish something would take my appetite away...ha ha). Then he got his finger pricked...which he was NOT a big fan of....threw another fit, and cried until Dr. Hardwick came in the room.
When Dr. Hardwick came in, he just carried on a conversation with him like he's known him forever. He let him look in his ears and throat like a big boy. He also let him listen to his lungs with no problem...I was very surprised. He even told him all about what he got for his "birfday". It was cute.
Then came time for 2 shots....oooohhhh my! He's quite the little fighter....he was screaming at the nurse and me...."GET OFF ME", "STOP IT"!!!! Since we left the office, he's been complaining about his leg hurting, and I just figured he was trying to milk this shot thing for all it's worth. I just looked at it a while ago, and I feel SO sorry for him. I guess it's from him fighting, but he has a huge knot where he got the shots. It looks painful. But I also know how hard it is to hit a moving target, so I can't blame the nurse. Sometimes it helps to be on both sides, because if I didn't know any better, I would've already called them wanting to know why his leg was swollen.
While we were in the office, Dr. Hardwick also took a quick listen to Andrew to confirm what I've already diagnosed him with... : ) He now has bronchiolitis...yay!!! Good thing is, he is still eating and he is still happy and hydrated. As long as that's the case, I'm not gonna worry about it!! He's my little trooper!

Happy 3rd Birthday, My Buddy!
2nd Birthday
February 8, 2007
Today is Trevor's official birthday, even though we celebrated yesterday. Gosh, I can't believe my baby is 3 years old. I don't know why but this one is hitting me like a ton of bricks...all of a sudden I am feeling old. It literally seems like yesterday that I found out I was pregnant with him! I guess it's just the fact that he is not a baby anymore....he's a little boy...it's just killing me. He has taught me so much over the past 3 years, and he continues to amaze me everyday. Yes, he is a handful and a half...to say the least, but I love him so much, and he wouldn't be Trevor if he weren't a little terd! He is so very smart, and I am so blessed and thankful that God chose me to be his mommy! Happy Birthday my angel...I love you more than you will ever know!!!
Yay...Party Hats!
Trevor is so silly....all he wanted for his birthday was an orange "strong neck" dinosaur cake, and some party hats! I thought that was so funny...but I made sure he got that orange cake, and Mi Mi got the party hats. No one has dinosaur party stuff, so we were really tacky and got a green table cloth with dinosaur stickers, and let Trevor decorate it himself!....He loved it!
