Update on Trevor...

As most of you know, Trevor had a little operation yesterday. He had to have a circumcision revision (something I really didn't feel like sharing with the world), but he is only 3 isn't he? He did much, much better than expected with all of the waiting before his surgery. We got to the hospital at 8:30, and he didn't go back for surgery until about 12:15, 12:30. Needless to say, he was just about to tear the room apart, until he got him some Versed. Within 10 minutes he was laid back and didn't give a care what was going on...and he quit saying "I'm hungry". He had not eaten anything since the night before.

When the little guy came and took him, he let me carry him half way to the OR, or to the "red line"....those of you who work with me know what I'm talking about....no one goes past the red line! Then he just went on with the tech....my son, willing went with a stranger...in scrubs! He was as high as a kite by then...and he just talked to that little guy as I watched them walk away. That's got to be one of the worst feelings, I don't care how minor the procedure is!

The surgery went great, he just had to be in recovery a little longer than I expected. One of my old ER buddies, Corey recovered him. She also used to be on our Critical Care Transport team, and I have seen her take care of some sick, sick babies...so I knew my baby was in good hands. She told me that when they took the breathing tube out, he started having stridor pretty bad, so he had to get a breathing treatment and some steroids. Then they brought him on to me, because he was getting pretty upset. I must admit, he did look aweful, and his breathing sounded horrible. He finally started waking up, and we did everything but stand him on his head to get his oxygen level up to 95% so that his nurse could document that, and we could get the heck out of there!

We finally got home about 4:30 yesterday evening. He is doing much, much better with the pain than I thought he would. I don't think his little body agrees with pain meds, but he seems to be doing great without them. He is doing great today....haven't heard one complaint, and that's pretty unusual for my little ball of fire, Trevor. He is being so cuddly and loving today, and I am just eating it up. He's already told me about 20 times that he loves me.

We are so blessed and I thank GOD for that!!

It's perfectly fine to share these kind of stories...just don't make a picture collage so that you can show his girlfriend when he gets older....just remember - boundaries!

I sure hope he's better soon - poor guy!

Aww, poor little guy. I know you were dreading that procedure but I am glad it went well. I hope he gets back to his old self again soon although I know you are eating up the loving he is giving you:)
