Well, big boy had his one year check-up this afternoon. It's hard to believe in just one year, he's gained 16 lbs and 12 oz, he's grown 9 3/4 inches, and his head has expanded 4 1/2 inches. Wow. That just blows my mind. That's kinda a fun way to look at things, but also sad...he's growing way too big, way too fast!
Today he weighed in at 24lb 13oz, was 30 3/4 inches tall, and his noggin was 19 inches. He's a healthy boy, and we are so blessed! I did see a side of my little man that I've never experienced, nor has Dr. Hardwick. He threw a FIT the whole time Dr. Hardwick was examining him. He's always so laid back and smiling. Well....not this time. He was ticked! His little face turned 12 shades of red, and he was screaming at the top of his lungs. That also got him good and worked up by the time we get to the shots. I don't think I've ever seen a 1 year old fight that hard...and trust me, I've fought quite a few working in the ED. Whheeewww, it took 3 of us to hold him down. God love him, he was READY to get the heck out of there!
Trevor: Mommy, he's mad!
Me: You think? I don't know what would make you think that, son. (By this time, Andrew is red-faced, tears streaming down his face, snot everywhere...you get the picture)
Trevor: Just look at him. He's got bandaids on both his legs and his toe. It's okay wittle buddy (speaking to Andrew)
Me: Yah...I think I would be mad, too.
I just love these little fellas to pieces!

Andrew's Birthday Party
We want to say a special thanks to our family that came to Andrew's party. Thanks Aunt Becky for letting us have the celebration at your house. Thank you Mi Mi and Paw Paw for getting the cakes. Thank you, thank you for all of the sweet gifts that everyone gave Andrew. I think it's safe to say this baby boy is ready for some cold weather! His closet is now full of winter clothes, and his mommy is SOOO excited! Thank you again for being a part of little man's special day! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful and caring family!

Well, Andrew had a good time opening gifts. So did Trevor. Trevor actually got him some prizes, too. Andrew didn't really know what was going on, but it was fun anyway!
The Cakes....
Isn't it great how I waited until after the cakes were destroyed to take pictures? I'm just smart like that. I'm not one of those mommies that have every moment of the party planned out...mmmmm, that takes too much energy. I will give myself credit for thinking about it, though!
Eating His Cake
Here is Andrew digging into his own cake....with the help from big brother, Trevor. He wasn't really sure what to do with it, but Trevor showed him, and I think he figured it out!
Trevor Man
was having a blast as always in the pool. I think he will definitely be swimming on his own next summer. He has started wanting to swim without his frog on, and has absolutely no fear of the water. Ohh...Uncle Jake!!
I think Uncle Jake had the most fun at Andrew's birthday party! He's such a kid at heart!

Well, yesterday my baby turned a year old. I cannot BELIEVE it has been a year since I first held this little angel. He is such a joy. He has learned so much in a year. He is crawling all over the place, trying to walk, standing on his own. He loves toys, balls, and being outside. He also loves, loves his big brother Trevor. I'm not sure how big he is, his 1 yr appt. is next week, so we'll keep you all posted.He is also having an actual birthday gathering, but that's not until tomorrow! We're just gonna celebrate all weekend!
His Favorite!
This was by far Andrew's favorite birthday prize. He is all about balls right now. He loves to chase them around and throw them. He was tickled to death when we fired this thing up. I love how excited he gets....too cute!
Silly Uncle Davy!
Andrew was loving the ice cream Uncle Davy was feeding him...I think I know why Andrew didn't want to go to bed last night! Cupcake and icecream....mmmmmm!Yummy Cupcake!
I let little man try out a cupcake for his birthday. At first he was like, "Uhhh, Mommy, why are you letting me eat this?" But soon enough, he dove right in! We were just practicing for his actual party tomorrow! I think he did a good job!
Prizes from Mommy and Daddy
I let Andrew have all of his prizes from Joe and me on his actual birthday. He's having a birthday party tomorrow afternoon for the rest of the family. Check out his first pair of shoes...no my child has never worn shoes because he hates them. He wore socks last winter, because he was so young. But there comes a time when you have to wear shoes, little Andrew. I thought these were cute and wide enough for his ginormous feet!
Balls!
This child is obsessed with balls, which I think most babies are. He would chase a ball all over the house for hours at a time!
Birthday Morning
Andrew had a very low key birthday....we started off the day just laying around being lazy. Check out big boy's new haircut...he doesn't look like a baby anymore, and it's killing me!
